Maneesh Sharma to direct Salman Khan’s third ‘Tiger’ film?

After months of rumours, latest buzz suggests that Yash Raj Films has roped in Maneesh Sharma to direct the third ‘Tiger’ film starring Salman Khan.

Rumours are rife that the film’s announcement will be made by Aditya Chopra in September to coincide with Yash Chopra’s birth anniversary. Initially, reports suggested that Kabir Khan could be brought back to helm the third film after ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ but that now seems unlikely.

A trade source told Mid-Day, “Adi sir wants a new director for every edition so that it has a distinct voice. The producer has finalised Maneesh as he believes he will bring a new dimension to the actioner. Adi sir and Jaideep Sahni have developed the story and screenplay. It is expected to be Salman Khan’s biggest film in terms of scale, and will be shot across various countries.”

Reports say that Yash Raj Films will be announcing some “ambitious” ventures later in the year as a part of the production house’s 50th year. The source added, “The film is likely to be announced on Yash Chopra’s birth anniversary on September 27. The plan may be altered depending on how the crisis plays out in the coming weeks.”
