In one of the biggest political events of 2016, Donald Trump became President-elect. His official inauguration ceremony will be taking place on 20th January and it seems the prime slot has been given to a Bollywood performance. Former Miss India Manasvi Mamgai will be performing at the event.

Talking about the forthcoming event, Mamgai told Mid-day, “The inauguration committee is organising a welcome celebration on January 19 for more than a million Trump followers. There will be two stages that will feature artistes from 3pm to 7pm. The President will come to the viewing box at 5pm for less than an hour, when there will be just one active stage, barely 10 feet from him. I have been given the prime slot, from 5pm to 5.45pm, to lead the Bollywood performance”.

Mamgai’s father Salabh Kumar is a businessman based in Chicago and the actress gives the credit to it to him. Mamgai was also on the campaign trail thanks to her father who founded Republican Hindu Coalition which gave support to Trump. She added, “My father requested me to volunteer for the campaign and I joined him. I also organised a Bollywood charity concert in New Jersey on October 15. It was there that dad introduced me to Trump”.
