Make BizAsia your preferred news source on Google
A new feature now lets you choose which publishers – including BizAsiaLive – appear at the top of your Google search results. Here’s how to make the most of it.
Whether you’re checking the latest headlines or hunting for a nutritious recipe, Google searches often return an overwhelming amount of information. With the introduction of AI‑generated summaries, it can sometimes feel as though trusted outlets are pushed further down the page. Google’s new Preferred Sources tool aims to change that by giving users greater control.
You can now personalise your Google settings to prioritise BizAsiaLive, along with any other outlets you rely on. Once added, these will become your Preferred Sources. Here’s what you need to know.
What is ‘Preferred Sources’?
Preferred Sources are websites you select within your Google settings that Google will prioritise when displaying news or other content. When you mark a site as a Preferred Source, Google becomes more likely to surface its articles, videos and updates.
Where will my Preferred Sources appear?
Preferred Sources may appear in the Top Stories section of Google search. Most often, you’ll notice them within the “from your sources” subsection of Top Stories, both on desktop and mobile searches.
Why should I personalise my Preferred Sources?
Customising your Preferred Sources helps Google deliver more relevant results. By choosing BizAsiaLive as one of your preferred outlets, you’ll see news from a source you trust more often and more prominently.
How do I add BizAsiaLive as a Google Preferred Source?
The quickest way to add BizAsiaLive is to use the direct link provided by Google and tick the box next to BizAsiaLive.com. If you’re not signed in, Google will prompt you to log in or create an account before taking you to the selection page.
You can also set your Preferred Sources while searching: After you search for something on Google, you’ll see “Top Stories” next to a starred card icon. Click that icon to add BizAsiaLive as a Preferred Source, then reload the search to see new BBC results. This preference will now be applied to all future Google searches.
