Having shared a great working rapport with each other, news has it that Sanjay Dutt and Mahesh Manjrekar are set to work together again. However this time Manjrekar will be the one sitting behind the camera, for the Hindi remake of the Marathi film ‘De Dhakka’ (2008).

As reported by Koi Moi, Manjrekar has signed Dutt to play the leadin the film. Talking about having Dutt on the project, the actor turned filmmaker expressed, “I was contemplating working with him as I wanted to work on something different, something that would surprise the audience. Then ‘De Dhakka’ came and I felt it was the perfect subject. Sanjay will have the family audience and youth rooting.”

This year so far seems to be a good one for Dutt. Having been released from jail earlier in the year, he is swamped with some really interesting projects including an untitled film helmed by Siddharth Anand, Sejal Shah’s ‘Hasmukh Pighal Gaya’ and Rajkumar Santoshi’s ‘Power’ to name a few.
