Maharashtra Health Minister confirms Lata Mangeshkar “responding well”

The nightingale of Indian cinema, Lata Mangeshkar is “responding well” to treatment after she was taken off a ventilator in her battle against coronavirus and pneumonia, according to Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope.

He said, “I spoke with Dr Pratit Samdwho is treating singer Lata Mangeshkar. She’s recovering, was on a ventilator for some days, but is better now. She is no more on ventilator. Only oxygen is being given to her. She is responding to the treatment.”

Mangeshkar was taken into hospital on 8th January 2022. Since then, she has been given extra assistance in her recovery due to her age.
