Madhuri on board for ‘Ishqiya’ sequel

BizAsia has learnt that Madhuri Dixit, who recently shifted bag and baggage back home to Mumbai, after spending several years settled with her husband and children in LA, has just signed her first film after a hiatus of five years.

There had been whispers of her big comeback, but apart from being seen in a few product endorsements, there was no concrete news of a film as such. However, Bollywood Hungama has now officially confirmed that she۪ll be playing the female lead in Vishal Bhardwaj۪s ‘Dedh Ishqiya’ a sequel to the Naseerudin Shah-Arshad Warsi-Vidya Balan starrer ‘Ishqiya’ (2010), directed by Abhishek Chaubey.

Dixit was last seen in ‘Aaje Nachle’ back in 2007. The film which was touted as her big foray back into Bollywood tanked at the turnstiles.

Madhuri is set tostar opposite Naseerudin Shah and word has it that she plays a character with shades of grey. ‘Dedh Ishqiya’ rolls in May and also stars Kangana Ranaut and Arshad Warsi in key roles.
