Madhuri Dixit’s father passes away

Madhuri Dixit has lost her father, Shankar Dixit, today after a prolonged illness.

Earlier this week, doctors had informed the family that his health had deteriorated. Due to this, part of the ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa’ final had been affected. Some of which was shot yesterday and some was expected today. Priyanka Chopra was roped in to step in for Dixit to perform a medley of her popular numbers, however, it may not be used now.

A source told Times Of India, “We were to shoot today also, but it has been called off keeping in mind Madhuri’s loss. Half the portion of the finale episode has already been shot and Madhuri may not be there to shoot for the remaining half.”
