Madhuri Dixit displeases Maharashtrian Government

Bollywood, Politics and Endorsements; they all go hand in hand. It is more apparent of late what��with actors being chosen by politicians to endorse tourism��of a particular state. Most recently, Madhuri Dixit has been caught in the middle of a price row when offered an endorsement of the state of Maharashtra.

According to the��Deccan Chronicle when politicians approached the actress to be involved in endorsing with the state tourism campaign in Maharashtra,��she��asked for a much higher price than they could give her. In a turn for the worse, Dixit did not attend an award ceremony held by the Maharashtrian Government.

A few days before,��it had come to light that Dixit��had attended another award event. In reaction to this Ajit Pawar, Deputy Chief Minister stated ���This is a state honour, a token of the love of 11 crore citizens. Some stars were free to receive other awards two days ago, but are tied for time to receive a government honour.�۝

Swabhiman Sanghatana Chief, Nitesh Rane, tweeted, ���Madhuri Dixit charging high for being the brand ambassador of Maharashtra is such a disgrace! When it comes to your own soil…one should be selfless! Shame!�۝

Dixit��has��been compared with Aamir Khan who, being a part of the endorsement of Union tourism campaign�ʉ�Incredible India ��� Atithi Devo Bhava�۪,��did so without��charging a penny.
