Known for making films that represent social issues, Madhur Bhandarkar’s next titled ‘Indu Sarkar’ will take inspiration from Indira Gandhi’s time as Prime Minister during the emergency period from 1975 to 1977. However the filmmaker isn’t ready to reveal anything about who will be playing the political figure.

“I don’t want to talk about that right now. My film is a personal take of the lead characters in the backdrop of Emergency. When the film releases, one will come to know what exactly it is,” Deccan Chronicle reported the director expressing.

Furthermore he isn’t even revealing anything about the film itself. “It’s a fictional film and one has to see it to know what it is about. There is no other way to know what’s going on in a film,” he stated when asked about it.

The film is set to star Kirti Kulhari and Neil Nitin Mukesh. Despite not revealing the actual story, Bhadankar was able to reveal, “It’s a different take for me as it is a different subject than what I usually work on. It’s about a girl who stammers and is also a poet. So the film is from her point of view.”
