Priyanka Chopra has taken to producing regional films this year and has received much praise for her projects. The actress’s mother has recently spoken about her daughter’s plans to ensure that Indian regional cinema goes international.
“Canada is a good market and we wanted to do something different. Priyanka had this personal opinion that we should get an international platform for our regional cinema. So that was part of it… to launch the trailer on international platform with a bang,” said Madhu, according to Absolute India. Priyanka’s production under Purple Pebble Pictures of the Punjabi film ‘Sarvann’ had its trailer launch in Toronto.
The trailer launch event was attended by members of the Canadian Parliament. Madhu continues, “Priyanka loved the trailer. The movie has good comedy and good dialogues, a fun entertainer. But the basic core of the film is its connection with the roots. The movie is attached to Punjabi roots. The movie is not about dance, songs and unnecessary noise but very important for the youth”.
Priyanka is currently in India fulfilling some of her commitments on this side of the globe before going back to the US to kickstart ‘Baywatch’ promotions.
