Lyca Media’s popular radio stations, Lyca Radio and Lyca Dilse have acquired the audio rights for the lucrative Pakistan Super League 2017.
The three-year agreement, which started last year, continues until 2018. Its exclusive deal includes the whole world outside Pakistan and Gulf Cooperation Countries.
As well as broadcasting regular updates officially from the tournament, the group also holds the online commentary rights.
PSL is the official T20 Cricket League of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) that will be played in Dubai and Sharjah from 9th February 2017 with emerging local and international players from England, West Indies, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Australia and New Zealand.
The Lyca Group is also sub-licencing other radio stations around the world to rebroadcast the tournament. Furthermore, it will be launching a dedicated mobile app, where it will provide updates from the tournament with exclusive PSL features. While the app will be available on both iOS and Android devices, the latter will have a “reminder” feature to remind cricket fans about forthcoming matches.
Lyca Media also confirmed to BizAsiaLive.com that it will be working closely with A Plus Europe, who holds the rights for the UK territory.
