London’s key Asian radio stations, Lyca Radio and Lyca Gold have scrapped their regular programming for an all-female line-up to mark International Women’s Day on Tuesday 8th March 2022.
On Lyca Radio – playing recent Bollywood hits, Vallisa will continue in the Breakfast slot from 06:00, which will be followed by Priyanka at 10:00. She will host an extended mid-morning show finishing at 14:00. Ruby Raza, who marks her return to Lyca Radio, will broadcast a special show up until 18:00, which will then be rounded off by Radiowalli until 22:00.
Meanwhile, on Lyca Gold – the UK’s first and only retro Asian music station, Kajal will take on the Gold Breakfast show at 06:00, followed by Jaz Sidhu at 10:00 until 14:00. Khush will take charge of Gold Afternoons at 14:00 until 18:00, with Ritu Sharma taking the reigns in the evening.
Raj Baddhan, CEO of Lyca Media said, “It gives me great pleasure to announce our special International Women’s Day programming. As well as putting our female presenters in the forefront, we at Lyca Media will be celebrating International Women’s Day with a range of features and music. A huge thanks to our sponsors Utsav Plus and Preeti Catering for supporting our initiative.”
Last year, Lyca Radio ran a similar programming strategy to mark International Women’s Day.
This year’s special day is sponsored by Utsav Plus and Preeti Catering.
