Lyca Radio hails significant rise in online listening figures

London’s popular Asian radio station, Lyca Radio is rejoicing today after a significant rise in online listening figures.

The data released by streaming provider, Sharpstream, gave Lyca Radio its biggest ever surge in online listening between 1st January and 31st May 2021. It is worth adding that Lyca Media appointed Raj Baddhan as its CEO at the beginning of the year and has since overhauled Lyca Radio’s output and enhanced the station’s presence online.

Lyca Radio’s online listening figures, which include Unique Users, Total Listening Hours (TLH) and Average Time Spent Listening (ATSL) have increased more than ten-folds, with listeners tuning in for longer sessions and more often.

The station is also garnering attraction from new listeners daily, with stronger programming over the past five months including ‘International Women’s Day’, ’90’s Day’, ‘Nadeem Shravan Day’, Ramadan, Eid and Valentine’s Day properties pushing the station to new heights.

Raj Baddhan, CEO of Lyca Media said, “Since I joined Lyca Media, my immediate plan was to overhaul the sound of my stations, increase the distribution and online presence of my brands. Its still very early days, however, the initial numbers look promising and I’m glad Lyca Radio’s new sound has been welcomed so warmly by listeners. A huge thank you to our listeners for boosting our numbers online. A special thank you also to our advertisers, who believe in the Lyca Radio brand. We will be launching our exciting new mobile app in the coming days, along with a new website, which will further elevate our reach.”

Lyca Radio is available on 1458AM and DAB in London, while its online platforms include LycaRadio.com, Alexa, Google Home and soon on mobile app – this summer.
