Lyca Dilse Radio proposes to change format to “retro Asian music station”

Ofcom has commenced a consultation process today after a request from Lyca Media to change its London based Dilse Radio into a ‘retro Asian music station’.

Dilse Radio, which currently operates as a speech-led Asian station, will switch to a retro Asian music radio station with lifestyle speech, targeting over 40-year old Asians in London, if the request is approved. This is the latest change since Raj Baddhan took over as CEO of Lyca Media earlier this year.

A station’s Format describes the type of programmes it is required to provide under its licence. This includes a description of the ‘character’ of the service.

Lyca Media also runs its flagship service, Lyca Radio, which is set to go for a new sound on Tuesday 4th May. The station is skewed towards a younger audience of 25+. Time 107.5FM also sits under the Lyca Media umbrella.

The consultation closes at 17:00 on 28th May 2021.
