Lisa Haydon, who turned to acting from fashion modeling, has credited actor Akshay Kumar for improving her command of the Hindi language.

The two actors will be seen together on the big screen in their upcoming film ‘Shaukeen’, which is a remake of the hit 1982 romantic-comedy film of the same name. It also stars Paresh Rawal, Anupam Kher and Annu Kapoor in lead roles.

The actress has worked in four films and is happy that her Hindi is getting better with every film. “Yes, Akshay helped me a lot with Hindi. He does half of my lines. In fact, his Hindi is far better than mine can ever be. It is a slow process. I know one can’t learn Hindi in a day. But shooting for so many days and speaking it every day has surely bettered it. Akshay is amazing. He is immensely talented and very encouraging,” Haydon told PTI.

In the remake, she will be reprising the role of Rati Agnihotri. The film was earlier offered to Nargis Fakhri but she walked out of the project in favour of her debut Hollywood film ‘Spy’.

“I don’t think about all that. I just feel I was very fortunate to get the film, I see it that way. Till sometime back, people wouldn’t have even considered me for a film like Shaukeen and after Queen released, they started calling me,” Haydon said.
