Lisa Haydon hails Rati Agnihotri’s performance in original ‘Shaukeen’

Stunning Indian model-turned actress Lisa Haydon, who played an important role in recently released Bollywood flick ‘The Shaukeens’, feels that Rati Agnihotri had done a superb job in the original version of the flick that released back in 1982.

Haydon says that she is a huge fan of the veteran actress and her performance in ‘Shaukeen’.

Haydon told DNA, “Rati Agnihotri was fantastic in the (1982) film. I completely loved her.”

She also described that she has played a very different role from Agnihotri’s part in ‘The Shaukeens’.

“I am enjoying the fact that the humour in this comedy is very self-deprecating. Every actor has made a great effort to laugh at himself,” she said.

Haydon, who has already garnered popularity for her performances in the films like ‘Aisha’ (2010) and ‘Queen’ (2014) found the experience of working in ‘The Shaukeens’ overwhelming. “‘Queen’ was equally satisfying in its own way, even though it was a small film. ‘The Shaukeens’ has given me an opportunity to work with amazing actors. I don’t think I have seen a comedy like this in Indian cinema before,” she said.

The transformed version of the flick, ‘The Shaukeens’, which releases this Friday, stars Anupam Kher, Annu Kapoor and Piyush Mishra in the leading characters.
