‘Lipstick Under My Burkha’ wins The Founder’s Award for Sustainability

It seems the cast and crew of ‘Lipstick Under My Burkha’ (2016) are still enjoying its success. If news is to be believed, the film has recently been awarded The Founder’s Award for Sustainability on the Big Screen.

According to Mid-Day, the film has been awarded by the TVE Global Sustainability Film Awards, where the judges included Surina Narula, philanthropist and sponsor of the event, Richard Creasey, managing director of BFC Media Ltd, owner of Moscow’s first IMAX theatre, and Denise Parkinson, entertainment director, global and UK for the Telegraph Media Group.

Directed by Alankrita Shrivastava, starring Konkona Sen Sharma, Ratna Pathak Shah, Aahana Kumra, and Plabita Borthakar, ‘Lipstick Under My Burkha’ focuses on the topic of women’s sexuality.
