Director Garth Davis and star Dev Patel are all set for India premiere of ‘Lion’ and the marketing team of the film are in full flow in promoting the movie.
Patel rose to global prominence following the release of Danny Boyle’s phenomenally successful, Oscar-nominated film, ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ (2008), reports Deccan Chronicle. The British star of Indian origin has also featured in a series of films and television shows since then, and his repertoire as a man in his profession grows by the day. In ‘Lion’ he plays an Indian boy, adopted by Australian parents, trying to retrace his roots using Google Earth. His performance got an Oscar nomination for ‘Best Supporting Actor.’
A close source reveals, “The makers of the film are planning a grand premiere in Mumbai, India. Director Davis will be in India on Wednesday for his media interactions and Patel will be joining the promotions in next 10 days. Apparently, the marketing team of the film has come up with some unusual ways to promote the film in India.”
Patel will next be seen in ‘Hotel Mumbai’ but in the meantime is still basking in the glory of ‘Lion’ success. The film has the Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor and Best Actress nominations running at this year’s Oscars.
