Legendary actor Pran has passed away at the age of 93 this evening at Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital.
The actor had been in and out of hospital over the past few months. He recently received his Dadasaheb Phalke award in May but was unable to pick up the award in person.
His daughter Pinky told PTI, “He died after a spell of prolonged illness. He was not keeping well, he was very weak. His health was deteriorating.”
He will be remembered for his roles in ‘Zanjeer’, ‘Amar Akbar Anthony’, ‘Ram Aur Shyam’ and ‘Don’, plus many others. His last appearance on screen was in ‘Mrityudaata’ (1997).
The funeral will be held at noon on July 13 at the Shivaji Park crematorium.
