Lebara Play directs customers to subscribe to Yupp TV

After competing with each other in the digital space for a number of years, Lebara Play is now directing its customers to its once rival, Yupp TV. The move follows Yupp TV’s acquisition of Lebara Play earlier this year.

Lebara Play has sent out an email out to old and existing subscribers of its IPTV platform. The email simply states: “Thank you for trying out Lebara Play. We’d like to recommend Yupp TV.” The footer of the email has the logos of the TV services Yupp TV streams, which include Star TV, ZEE Network, Sony Pictures Networks and Viacom18 channels. Lebara Play continues to stream Tamil channels and programming on its platform.

Lebara Play launched with much fanfare in 2015, only to drop its portfolio of Hindi channels in July 2016. As well as Hindi content from various broadcasters, Yupp TV also holds the exclusive streaming rights for the IPL 2018 in Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, Europe, South America and South East Asia.
