Lead actor quits ZEE TV’s ‘Dulhann…’?

Trouble is brewing behind the scenes of ZEE TV’s popular show ‘Banoo Mein Teri Dulhann’ after reports out today suggest lead actor Sharad Malhotra has quit.

Malhotra who plays the role of Saagar has reportedly bagged numerous Bollywood projects and is unable to give dates to ZEE TV’s flanking show. If true, then it is likely Malhotra’s on-screen wife played by Divyanka Tripathi will follow suit.

Furthermore, the show has been troubled with Kamya Punjabi (Sindoora) also taking time off due to an illness. Doctors have advised the actress to take rest.

When TellyChakkar approached Malhotra on the same, he said, “This is news to me that I have bagged a Bollywood movie. I am still a part of Dulhann. Atleast for this month I am very much a part of the show.”

But producer Shyamasis Bhattacharya confirmed our news and said, “Yes, Sharad has informed me about his inability to do the show. He has some other commitments and thus wouldn�۪t be able to continue with the show.”

‘Dulhann’ was recently given a reprieve after channel chiefs had decided to keep the show on-air despite a decline in popularity. It now looks certain the show will live on until the summer, ‘Jhansi Ki Rani’ is the most prominent choice to replace ‘Dulhann’ sometime in July/August.
