The title of Akshay Kumar’s upcoming horror comedy, ‘Laxmmi Bomb’ has been changed to ‘Laxmii’ after legal threats.
The Karni Sena sent a legal notice to the film’s makers demanding a title change. It said that ‘Laxmmi Bomb’ was ‘derogatory’ and ‘offensive’ to Goddess Laxmi by the Hindu community.
It further added that the makers had “deliberately” used the title ‘Laxmmi Bomb’ with the sole purpose of lowering the “dignity” of and to show “disrespect” towards the goddess.
‘Laxmmi’ will releases on Monday 9th November exclusively on Hotstar. It also stars Kiara Advani.
