Asian Lawyer Mitesh Patel, has received national coverage in the press following a number of national TV appearances and media interviews in respect of the latest high profile case.
Mitesh, who is an award winning Partner and Solicitor at the renowned firm Levenes Solicitors, has been handling the case of 22-year old Naomi Oni, 22 who suffered third degree burns to her face and chest following an attack near her home in Dagenham, East London, in December 2012. Last week, her attacker Mary Konye was finally sentenced to 12 years imprisonment.
After the sentencing Mitesh read out a statement on behalf of his client Ms Oni which has since captured the attention of the media across the country.
Following his live statement to the press, Mitesh has invited to comment on various mainstream news channels including Sky News and BBC News, dealing with the plight of blameless victims of crime.
In an exclusive interview with BizAsia, Mitesh stated, “It is important for blameless victims of crime to know that there are organisations to help with minimising some of the damage and loss suffered. Cases like Ms Oni۪s show that victims of serious crime need help to rebuild their lives and with legal representation reaching out can be made easier. Mitesh and the coverage generated has resulted in positive support from the public as well as members of the medical profession stepping forward to offer assistance to Ms Oni as well as government agencies offering more support than ever before.
Last year Mitesh was awarded the title of Lawyer of the Year and Best in Legal Services in recognition of his successful representation of injured people and vulnerable victims – he is considered by many as a lawyer for the people.
