Lata Mangeshkar passes away at 92

The nightingale of Indian cinema, Lata Mangeshkar has passed away at the age of 92.

The legendary singer was admitted to hospital last month due to coronavirus and pneumonia.

Mangeshkar, who had been in ICU since being admitted, was taken off ventilator support earlier this week but was once again placed on it after her health deetiolated.

She passed away after further complications and aged related issues. The news was confirmed by Breach Candy Hospital CEO Dr N Santhanam. It was later confirmed by sister Usha Mangeshkar.
