‘Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum’ sold for ‘super kool’ price
Ekta Kapoor’s upcoming film ‘Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum’ has fetched a good price, even higher than ‘The Dirty Picture’ (2011) in terms of an all-India sale value.
The film, which is the sequel to the 2005 hit ‘Kya Kool Hain Hum’ stars Ritiesh Deshmukh and Tusshar Kapoor.
Says a noted trade consultant says, There is definite curiosity around the film for various reasons – it’s a comedy, the original was a hit, Tusshar and Riteish are tested brands in the youth comic space, and above all, the Balaji factor. He adds, “That it’s a naughty and raunchy comedy definitely helps in making it a hot proposition.”
The all-India distribution rights of ‘Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum’ have been sold for a super kool 21.6 cr to a Nagpur-based distributor, who is believed to have recently acquired ‘Rowdy Rathore’ and ‘Bol Bachchan’. The music and satellite rights were also pre-sold.
Says Tanuj Garg, CEO – Balaji Motion Pictures, “The sequel is even more crazy and uninhibited than the original! Get ready for a mad ride!”
The film is slated to release on Friday 2nd August.
