Kunal Kapoor’s first direction to be a silent film

Kunal Kapoor hasn’t graced the big screen in too many Bollywood projects in recent years, but he is all ready to sit behind the scenes as he is directing his first film. It will be a silent film that Kapoor has written and will tell the story of a soldier.

Kapoor revealed, “I am directing this year. It is a short film that I have written, and it’s a film that I have wanted to make for a long time. It is a story I have wanted to tell, so it is an exciting year. Finally the script is ready, and by early August I start shooting for that. It will be my foray into direction. It doesn’t have a title right now, but it is about a soldier and it’s a silent film, that’s all I can tell you. It is something comic-tragic. We don’t make silent films, but when you make a short film you get a chance to experiment. I have grown up watching Kishore Kumar and Charlie Chaplin; I enjoyed that kind of cinema, so it will reflect in my work in someway,” as according to Asian Age.

Kapoor’s last Hindi film was Reema Kagti’s ‘Gold’ (2018).
