Kunal Kapoor wants to be creative

Kunal Kapoor 1

It’s fair to say that Kunal Kapoor has come a very long way since he started over a decade ago, and this may have a lot to do with the way he feels about his career now compared to when he first started. Apparently the actor is now all about being creative.

“When I started off, I was afraid that I would fail because in our industry, failures and successes are public, and careers are fragile. Early on, some of my decisions were based on trying to feel secure. Over a period of time, I introspected about why I wanted to be here and I realised that the only thing that is important to me is to be creative,” Times of India reports the actor expressing.

He went on to add, “Now, all my acting choices are a reflection of this. I have also started writing and I’m developing a couple of scripts. This gives me the chance to explore different worlds and characters that fascinate me.”

Kapoor is certainly proving to be quite the creative actor, with his next three projects being completely different from each other. First will be Gauri Shinde’s contemporary film ‘Dear Zindagi’ which also stars Shah Rukh Khan and Alia Bhatt, as well as a period drama helmed by Jayaraj R Nair titled ‘Veeram and Tigmanshu Dhulia’s  next where he will be seen playing a soldier. Talking about these projects, Kapoor explained, “I have literally travelled through time this year as I have gone from playing a 16th century warrior to a soldier in the 40s and a millennial man.”

Looks like Kapoor want’s to pull out all the stops. If this year is anything to go by, then it’s only a wonder what he’ll have planned for in the next year.
