Kunal Kapoor: “There is no point in doing work that you do not believe in”

Kunal Kapoor has been seen in ensemble films like ‘Laaga Chunari Mein Daag’ (2007) and ‘Aaja Nachle’ (2007), but his latest focus has been on filmmaking, and he has four different films that will be announced soon. Although, he would still like to act in films that are interesting, as there’s no point in acting in films that you do not believe in.

Kapoor told PTI, “I felt the content that I was looking for was not coming my way. So I decided to develop things in which I had my heart. I am working on four scripts and I am very excited about it. There is an out-an-out action film, an ensemble film set in Varanasi, another ensemble romantic-comedy set in Punjab and a biopic. I enjoy every aspect of filmmaking. I did start as an assistant director so, at some point, I would like to direct. But today acting is my top priority and I would like to focus on that. It is essential to be seen as an actor but there is no point in doing work that you do not believe in. Even if it is one film a year, I am OK with it. I never approach films as big or small. If the script is interesting, I do it.”

As an actor, Kapoor will next be seen Akshay Kumar’s ‘Gold’, slated to release on 15th August.
