Kumar Taurani set to remake ‘Soldier’

Producer Kumar Taurani will be remaking the 90s blockbuster ‘Soldier’ with son Girish Taurani stepping into the lead role, initially played by Bobby Deol.

The film, which was released 18 years ago, was directed by Abbas-Mastan.

A source told Deccan Chronicle, ���They are keen to remake one of the films from their archives. They have narrowed down on Soldier. It was a film that had great content and music. In fact Bobby Deol�۪s career reach new heights after the film and his chemistry with Preity was also loved by the masses. Back then it had all the ingredients of a blockbuster film.�۝

The source added, ��� Right now it�۪s too early as Kumar Taurani has just started the discussion with his team. He needs to have a strong script and is on the look out for one. As far as Girish is concerned, he has all the traits of stepping in to the character of Bobby Deol. Girish has a strong presence on screen and a personality which will help him to pull off this film.�۝

Kumar Taurani confirmed the news, “Yes, I want to remake Solider but not until I find a good script.�۝
