While ‘Dilwale’ failed to live up to Box Office expectations in India, actress Kriti Sanon says the film proved successful for her as it introduced her to a larger audience around the world.
Speaking toMumbai Mirror, Sanon stated, “There was a lot of pressure on me when I signed ‘Dilwale’ and though it did not do as well in India, overseas the business was crazy despite competition from another film (‘Bajirao Mastani’). It opened in places where Hindi films are never screened. My first film was a hit but not many saw it. But getting noticed all over the world is a big deal for me!”
Directed by Rohit Shetty, ‘Dilwale’ starred Sanon opposite Varun Dhawan, alongside Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol.
Sanon has recently signed Dinesh Vijan’s directorial debut opposite Sushant Singh Rajput.
