Krish Jagarlamudi known for his period films, is set to make another and this time he has Kangna Ranaut as his leading lady.

Deccan Chronicle report that Jagarlamudi’s next, which will be in Hindi called ‘Manikarnika’ and is based on the story of Rani Lakshmi Bai, the Queen of Jhansi. Ranuat is well on the way preparing for the film and Jagarlamudi has roped in Hollywood’s top choreographers Nick Powell to train Ranaut with horse riding and sword fighting. Powell has worked on films such as ‘Braveheart’ (1995) and ‘Gladiator’ (2000).

“We hired Hollywood action choreographer Nick Powell to train Kangna,” says the director, further adding how he’s excited to be working with the ‘Queen’ (2013) star, “She is highly talented, cooperative and hardworking. She is training on her own and I am eagerly waiting for the shoot.”

Jagarlamudi reveals that shooting will commence in July, “We are planning to shoot in a few locations in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and RFC in Hyderabad.”

Of course doing a period film is no easy task and requires a lot of prep work ahead of time. “This is the third period film I am doing after Kanche and Gautamiputra Sathakarni and generally, such films require a lot of preparation,” said Jagarlamudi.

Dialogues and songs will be written by Prasoon Joshi and Vijayendra Prasad is looking after the story and co-writing the script.
