Konkona Sen Sharma has been known to play powerful characters with ease in her Bollywood and Bengali films. She is all set to play another crucial role as Aarushi Talwar’s mother in Meghna Gulzar’s next ‘Nyodda,’ based on the 2008 Aarushi Talwar murder case.
The film is directed by Gulzar who has kept the sensitivity of the case in mind. Sharma talked to the Indian Express on the sets of her next Bengali film ‘Shajarur Kanta’. “I have worked under Meghna Gulzar in ‘Nyodda’ and I found the role crucial and interesting. I worked with Irrfan Khan. This is a story handled sensitively by Meghna.” The script of ‘Nyodda’ has been written by director Vishal Bhardwaj and will star Sharma, alongside Irrfan Khan, Tabu, and Soham Shah. Sharma and Shah will play Aarushi Talwar’s parents, Tabu the aunt, and Khan the investigating officer of the case. The film will supposedly revolve around the accounts of Talwar’s relatives.
Sharma will also be seen in the upcoming Prakash Jha film, ‘Lipstick Waale Sapne.’
