KJo delays release of ‘Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani’

It seems friendship can override competition in the Bollywood world and viceversa. Due to his close links with Ekta Kapoor, Karan Johar has postponed the release of Ayan Mukerji’s ‘Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani’, BizAsia has learnt.

Johar has made the decision as the March release date of the movie would have clashed with Ekta Kapoor’s Ranveer Singh and Sonakshi Sinha starrer, ‘Lootera’. The latter has already been delayed due to various reasons and a further clash with ‘Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani’, which stars ex flames Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone, may have proved detrimental. Therefore, ‘Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani’ is now slated for release on 31st May 2013.

Well, all’s well that ends well. The box office will decide the fate of both of the movies.
