Kismat Radio goes mute on Sky Digital

Kismat Radio, the adult contemporary multi-language station from Sunrise Radio Group has been removed from the Sky Digital platform.

The station went mute yesterday, which has today resulted in Sky Digital removing the channel from EPG slot 0173. Kismat Radio follows its sister stations Sunrise Radio, Punjabi Radio and Sunrise TV to be removed from the digital platform.

A reason behind the removal is not yet known but with all four channels being removed in a matter of days from each other – does this signal a more deeper issue? It’s worth noting that, Sunrise Radio was the UK’s first commercial Asian station to broadcast on digital TV and DAB nationally.

At the time of filing this article, BizAsia was awaiting a response from Sunrise Radio Group.

Kismat Radio continues to broadcast normally on 1035AM in Greater London and online via its website.
