Kismat Radio launches on DAB in London

Sunrise Radio’s talk orientated station Kismat Radio has launched on DAB digital radio across London.

Three-year old Kismat Radio, which previously was only available on 1035AM in London and on DAB digital radio in Bradford and Huddersfield will now be available in Greater London.

Kismat Radio has replaced Sunrise Radio’s mainstream station Easy Radio on the London III multiplex. Panjab Radio is the only other Asian service on the same multiplex operated by NOW Digital.

According to RAJAR – the official listening measuring body, Kismat Radio has added 8,000 extra listeners to its service. It now stands with an audience of 76,000.

Sunrise Radio’s other station Punjabi Radio is also available on DAB digital radio. It is still unclear when Sunrise Radio will launch nationally after Channel 4 pulled out from the second multiplex deal.
