Kiran Rao on Fatima Sana Shaikh’s casting in ‘Thugs Of Hindostan’

Ever since she was signed for Aamir Khan’s forthcoming ‘Thugs of Hindostan’, there have been plenty of rumours stating that Fatima Sana Shaikh only got the role because of Aamir Khan’s influence rather than her acting ability. However Khan’s wife Kiran Rao, has now spoken out against the claims.

“We don’t deal with casting. Aamir, Adi (Aditya Chopra) and Victor (Vijay Krishna Archarya) decided the casting so they must have given it a good thought because it’s a big film,” Deccan Chronicle reports Rao expressing.

She went on to add, “There has to be merit or else they wouldn’t take risk with such a big film.”

Shaikh made a huge impact with critics and audiences alike when she played Khan’s daughter in ‘Dangal’ (2016). Now working with Khan again, Shaikh will be seen playing one of the leads in ‘Thugs of Hindostan’ alongside the likes of Amitabh Bachchan and Katrina Kaif. Directed by Archarya, the film is set to release in 2018.
