Kiara Advani approached for ‘Kanchana’ remake?

If reports are to be believed, Kiara Advani has now been approached to play the lead in the Hindi remake of the South Indian film, ‘Kanchana’. Where south actress Sobhita Dhulipala had first been considered, reports suggest that the actress could not match the dates for the film’s shooting, so she had to drop out.

Confirming the news, Asian Age reports a source stating, “Yes, Kiara has been approached to be a part of the film and she will be signing on the dotted line very soon. The makers are also approaching R Madhavan to be a part of the movie as well.”

Still in its early stages, the makers of the film have yet to zero in on a director too, though there had been rumours that orginal director Raghava Lawrence will be in charge. “The makers want a Bollywoodised version of the film and hence Raghava has still not been confirmed as a director. They are still looking out for someone who can shepherd the project,” the source went on to add.

Looks like this project will be a big one. With both Advani and Madhavan being rather popular in the South too, it seems the film will be one to watch out for.
