‘Kedarnath’ to release as scheduled despite legal opposition

Abhishek Kapoor’s ‘Kedarnath’ will release as per schedule this week, despite being accused of hurting Hindu sentiments.

A petition was filed by Swami Darshan Bharti, who alleges that the film is an “ugly taint” on the Hindu shrine. He has also alleged that Lord Kedarnath has been insulted in the film. Furthermore, the petition claims that the trailer of the film shows Muslims residing in the area, while there are no residents from the Muslim community in the area.

The court heard the petition on Wednesday, with a further hearing scheduled for Thursday. However, the court refused to grant any stay on the release of the film, which is due out on Friday at cinemas.
