Katrina objects to calling her next ‘Katrina Meri Jaan’

The title of Aanand L Rai’s dwarf film hasn’t yet been decided yet. There was a rumour not long ago that the film was tentatively titled ‘Katrina Meri Jaan’ but, to the surprise of many, it seems Katrina Kaif was the one who objected to this.

“I play an actress in the film, but I don’t play myself. I’m not Katrina Kaif in the film. My character has a different name in the film. So, it obviously cannot be called Katrina Meri Jaan,” said Kaif, as quoted by DNA.

The other reason being given is that Kaif’s character in the forthcoming film, which also stars Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma, is very similar to her in real life and she wasn’t best pleased for this comparison to be made. A source said, “The script was written with the idea of Katrina playing Katrina in the film and SRK being her biggest fan. Katrina asked the makers to change the character’s name because she didn’t want people to think it’s completely based on her life”.

In the film, it’s thought that Kaif’s character splits up with her boyfriend and therefore, she thought people might draw comparisons with her break-up with Ranbir Kapoor.
