Katrina Kaif’s regime for Prabhudheva’s song in ‘Thugs of Hindostan’ revealed

Katrina Kaif recently completed an intensive dance number with Aamir Khan, choreographed by Prabhudheva for Vijay Krishna Acharya’s ‘Thugs Of Hindostan’. Celebrity trainer Yasmin Karachiwala who trained Kaif, gave an insight into her workout regime and diet plan for the song.

Kaif had to change her workout routine numerous times as the song involved intensive rehearsals and dance steps, reports Pinkvilla.

Karachiwala says, “It was a very hectic song and because of that we really couldn’t do a lot of workouts but we did a lot of pilates. A month before the song started we were doing functional circuit training in the gym and pilates and once the song started, in between the four to six hours dance rehearsals with Prabhu Dheva, we started the 20-20-20 workout because we didn’t want to do high-intensive workouts as she was anyways dancing for so many hours to learn the dance steps. The 20-20-20 routine is where I work 20 minutes on her upper body, 20 minutes on her leg and 20 minutes on her core on machines of pilates. After the song started it was a different we did classical Pilates exercises for whatever she did like for reflexors or her back. While she was doing the song I would focus on what she needed for the workout. The workouts were basically tailored to what her needs were throughout.”

The trainer also gave insight into Kaif’s diet plan. “We work together on a food plan because also, when you are doing this kind of intense dancing you can’t starve yourself and not eat because you need some energy to flow and your sugar level can fall. I tailor her food according to what her requirement is, like for this song we had to have carbs in her diet. You can have carbs in the first half of the morning and have gluten-free food.”

The food would include gluten-free bread for breakfast. The celebrity trainer adds, “As the rest of the day goes the carbs get less. In the morning Katrina would have some toast in the morning, mid-morning she would have a snack, lunch would be fish and vegetables, evening she has another snack like protein balls which I make at home and send to her, she also has these gluten-free cupcakes that her cook makes, chia pudding – these are her snacks at different times and dinner which is after she finishes her work or completing it, is soup and eggs which is very light.”

Karachiwala concluded by saying, “Every pilates routine differs with every song. I keep going abroad, getting trained and constantly learning new stuff as even in pilates there is so much to do so every time we do something – we do new and different. Pilates sound the same but you may have the reformer, the chest, the core alignment, there are different equipments that we use for different things so for every song we do it’s something different. So the pilates routine was again different from what we did in Swag se swagat in Tiger Zinda Hai.”
