Katrina Kaif not afraid of healthy competition

Katrina Kaif appears to be on a signing spree following recent announcements of new projects she is involved with.  However the actress maintains that she is not driven by the numbers game but sees healthy competition and evolution in the industry as her driving force.

Kaif is back in the news for professional, rather than personal reasons now, having signed Aamir Khan starrer ‘Thugs of Hindostan’ and reports she has bagged Shah Rukh Khan’s next with Aanand L Rai.  Speaking to Hindustan Times, the actress acknowledged the younger breed of actresses that are entering the industry but does not see herself competing with them.  “It’s a game of survival. It’s a process that I came to understand quite early on.  And that understanding isn’t about looking around you and trying to compete with people who are 20-21, because that would be insanity, and, in fact, illogical”, said Kaif.

The actress feels she is in a different space now and went on to say “I have to look at it like: “This is me and this is my space, and how I can be the best for this much, that role, or how I can improve on what I am doing.” That’s honestly what I am looking for and looking to enjoy”.

Kaif went onto add that healthy competition is the driver and be inspired by good performances and films.  However she was clear to state she does not feel envious of others’ success “Healthy competition is obviously there, but there is no sense of envy for people who are at different stages of their career. They are at a different stage, while I am working on a different timeline”.
