Kate Sharma withdraws sexual harassment case against Subhash Ghai

Having been accused of sexual misconduct from a work colleague and actress Kate Sharma, Subhash Ghai became another big name who came under scrutiny within the #MeToo campaign in India. However, Sharma has now withdrawn her complaint against the filmmaker stating she wanted to focus on looking after her family.

According to Pinkvilla, Sharma’s experience was unknown to her family members until she came out publicly with the complaint. Having found out it has caused much distress, Sharma has expressed that she now just wants to help them recover from it all. The model has also accused the police for not doing anything about any of the accusations related to the #MeToo movement. Though all the FIRs have been issued, nobody has actually been arrested.

Sharma had accused Ghai of grabbing her and attempting to kiss her. With the complaint now being withdrawn, the film maker took to social media and expressed, “I am a great supporter of the Me Too movement and women empowerment but hope that those taking undue advantage of the movement do not end up diluting it for their own short time frame. I feel grief if someone is trying to harm my reputation. Anyway, my lawyers will take care of the matter.”
