Kartik Aaryan replaces Sidharth Malhotra in ‘Kirik Party’ Hindi remake

Producer Ajay Kapoor has brought in Kartik Aaryan for the Hindi remake of ‘Kirik Party,’ a 2016 Kannada blockbuster, which revolves around a campus romance and is one of the highest grossing films in the Kannada film industry.

It ran for 150 days in theatres, reports Times of India. Regarding the remake, sources say, “Initially Sidharth Malhotra was on board for the film but later makers decided to drop him because of his current box-office results. And they signed Kartik Aaryan as the leading man, whose popularity amongst youth is huge and recently delivered a Rs 100 crore blockbuster, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety. They thought Kartik would be an apt choice for this film.”

The official remake will be directed by National Award winning filmmaker Abhishek Jain. Today in an official statement producer Kapoor said, “We are excited to have Kartik Aaryan on board. We felt only he can bring out this well-etched character on the big screen. Kyta Productions is also happy to introduce an extremely talented filmmaker Abhishek Jain with this college romance. We will start filming this October and release it next year.”

The production house has also confirmed that the untitled film will go on floors in October and will be produced by Dheeraj Wadhawan, Kapoor of Kyta Productions and Vrithika Laykar.
