Even after ‘Inshallah’ was shelved, Alia Bhatt has been making constant visits to Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s office. This has led to rumours that they might be working on a new project and, most likely, ‘Gangubai.’
Earlier while talking about the film, Bhansali had revealed that he wants Priyanka Chopra Jonas to play the titular role in it. He told the Mumbai Mirror, “I love the story, it’s been with me for long and I’m keen to make the film. Priyanka and I are in talks.”
Recently it was also reported that he also approached Ranbir Kapoor for the male lead but the star turned down the offer, reports DNA India. On Sunday, Kartik Aaryan was was pictured while making his way out of Bhansali’s office, and the reports started making the rounds that he is also in the running to play the male lead opposite Bhatt.
Meanwhile, Bhansali was all set to start shooting for ‘Inshallah’ with Salman Khan and Bhatt. However, just a couple of days before the film was set to go on floors, Khan opted out of the film and it has been put on the shelf for now.
