Dharma Productions, owned by Karan Johar, is considered to be one of the biggest production houses of Bollywood. And the latest news coming out of the company is that that they have replaced one of its lead actors from their upcoming film.
Sources have confirmed that Kartik Aaryan, who was all set to be a part of ‘Dostana 2, alongside Janhvi Kapoor and debutant Lakshya, has been replaced. The star was apparently giving Dharma Productions a tough time while shooting for the film, reports Filmfare. And despite some scenes for the film already being filmed with the cast, Johar’s production house have decided to end Aaryan’s association with the movie.
A source close to the film was quoted as saying, “Yes, Kartik has walked out of Dostana 2 over creative differences, even after going through the script before agreeing to do the film, and then also shooting for the film for over two weeks.” The shoot was initially halted in March last year due to the coronavirus pandemic and lockdown.
Dharma Productions confirmed the news. It took to Twitter to state, “Due to professional circumstances, on which we have decided to maintain a dignified silence – we will be recasting Dostana 2, directed by Collin D’Cunha. Please wait for the official announcement soon.”
