Kartik Aaryan confirmed for Bhushan Kumar & Anurag Basu’s ‘Aashiqui 3’

After years of rumours, Kartik Aaryan has been confirmed for ‘Aashiqui 3’, which will be helmed by Bhushan Kumar and Anurag Basu.

In the announcement made by Aaryan, the actor said, “This one is going to be Heart-wrenching !! My First with Basu Da.”

He was further quoted by Variety saying, “The timeless classic ‘Aashiqui’ is something I grew up watching and working on ‘Aashiqui 3’ is like a dream come true. I feel privileged yet grateful collaborating with Bhushan Kumar and Mukesh Bhatt for this opportunity. I’ve been a big fan of Anurag Basu’s work and collaborating with him on this one will definitely shape me in many ways.”

The ‘Aashiqui’ era started in 1990 with the original helmed by Mahesh Bhatt. It starred Rahul Roy and Anu Agarwal. In 2013, Mohit Suri took the franchise forward with ‘Aashiqui 2’ starring Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor. For ‘Aashiqui 3’, a leading lady opposite Aaryan is yet to be confirmed. However, makers have confirmed that the film’s music will be provided by Pritam.
