Security surrounding Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Deepika Padukone has been increased after threats against the actress by Karni Sena in the ‘Padmavati’ row.
According to Times Of India, the Rajput group has upped its protests against the film, despite Bhansali coming forward to deny any romantic links between Padukone and co-star Ranveer Singh’s characters in the film.
To make matters worse, Mahipal Singh Makrana, a member of the Karni Sena issued a fresh threat against Padukone. He said, “Rajputs never raise a hand on women but if need be, we will do to Deepika what Lakshman did to Shurpanakha.”
Lokendra Singh Kalvi, Rajput Karni Sena chief added they will call for a bandh on 1st December. He said, “We will gather in lakhs, our ancestors wrote history with blood we will not let anyone blacken it; we will call for Bharat bandh on December 1.”
