Karni Sena leader sent to judicial custody over ‘Padmaavat’ row

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Padmaavat’ has been through its fair share of problems after constant threats from the Karni Sena.

In the latest twist, the leader of the cult group, Suraj Pal Amu has been sent to judicial custody this afternoon until Monday, according to Times Of India. He will remain at Bhondsi Prison after which his supporters may apply for bail. If his bail is rejected, the DCP Deepak Gahlaway will decided whether to extend the custody.

The report adds that Amu was arrested by Gurugram police on Thursday and was detailed from his residential society on MG Road.

Meanwhile, ‘Padmaavat’ has done impressive business since it was released on Thursday.
