Followingmuch controversy given their acrimonious relationship and the allegations they have made against each other, which have been making rounds in the media, it appears Bollywood actor Karisma Kapoor and her estranged husband, businessman Sunjay Kapur are now all set to divorce by mutual consent.

The consent agreement, which has been signed by both and submitted before the Supreme Court, stipulates Kapoor will be given full-time custody of their two children with Kapur receiving adequate visitation rights over them. The couple who married in 2003, have a daughter and a son together. Allegedly, Kapur has also agreed to transfer the ownership of the family’s Mumbai home to his wife.

It is said that on 30th June, the family court will consider the divorce petition filed by Kapur, and there it will formally grant the decree of divorce.

After an in-chamber hearing of over an hour before a bench headed by justice AK Sikri took place on Friday, as reported byDNA India, Kapoor’s instructed counsel Sandeep Kapur said, ” All pending disputes between the couple have been amicably resolved. It has been agreed that the divorce petition filed by the husband at a court in Mumbai will now be converted into divorce plea by mutual consent.”

After separating in 2014 and filing for divorce, the couple made nasty accusations about each other where, on the one hand, Kapur alleged that an underworld don, Ravi Pujari, had acted on behalf of his wife, and had threatened him against visiting Mumbai, Karisma Kapoor ended up filing a criminal case against the formeron charges of cruelty and said the financial settlement he had offered was unacceptable.

Both parties have agreed to withdraw their complaints against each other.

On this, Kapoor’s advocate disclosed, “Karisma [Kapoor] was asked by the apex court to withdraw the case filed against him [Sunjay Kapur] under the Protection from Domestic Violence Act in two weeks in view of the settlement arrived at today.”

Aman and Priya Hingorani, Kapur’s lawyers, added, “Karisma [Kapoor] agreed for the quashing of the criminal proceedings initiated by her at a trial court in Mumbai under section 498A (subjecting woman to cruelty) of IPC and the apex court accordingly quashed it.”
