Karishma Tanna is one of the most loved actresses of the small screen and was seen making her silver screen debut in Rajkumar Hirani’s ‘Sanju’ (2018). The actress has spoken about being part of such a film.

“Most of the actors in Sanju had a strong lineage. So for me, coming from nowhere, no background, it was a big deal when my name was being mentioned along with the stars. I’m very content in that way and I know slowly and gradually, I’ll make my mark in Bollywood,” said Tanna, as reported in Hindustan Times.

Tanna also spoke about the spotlight that the film put on her, “There are people who are replying to me and sending me [congratulatory] messages; those who never had the time to meet, are now meeting me. That’s the power of a super hit film and a beautiful camp that I got to be a part of”.

The special appearance in the film was something that got her noticed but would she do such a cameo once again? She replied, “The length of the role would now matter [to me] because people in this industry [tend to] typecast you. If you continue to do guest appearances, they’d be like, ‘Okay, she has done a cameo, so let’s offer her something similar’. Going forward, I’d love to do meaty roles for sure”.
